
Cape Coral, FL — On June 8, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Cape Coral Police officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a property in Cape Coral.
The reporting party said they were inside their RV, which serves as their residence, when an unknown male approached and attempted to open the locked door multiple times. The suspect, later identified as Devon Turner (DOB 10/02/1992), was described as wearing women’s clothing, including leggings and a tank top, and carrying a small backpack. After failing to gain entry, Turner disconnected the RV from its power source.
Officers arrived on scene and made contact with Turner. During the investigation, Turner stated he was on his way to court and was searching for clothing to wear. Based on the investigation, officers determined Turner attempted to unlawfully enter an occupied dwelling with the intent to commit theft. Turner’s court date was related to a prior burglary.
During a search incident to arrest, officers located approximately 2.9 grams of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine inside Turner’s backpack.
Devon Turner was taken to the Lee County Jail on the following charges:
- Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling, F.S.S. 810.02(3)(a)
- Possession of Methamphetamine, F.S.S. 893.13(6a)
