Anthony Sizemore

Chief of Police

Chief Anthony Sizemore has served with the Cape Coral Police Department since 1998, rising through the ranks from Patrol Officer to Chief of Police in 2020. With nearly 30 years of public service, he is a strategic and community-focused leader dedicated to building public trust through compassionate, transparent policing.

Chief Sizemore holds a master’s degree from the University of San Diego and is a graduate of the PERF Senior Management Institute for Police. He is an active member of the Police Executive Research Forum, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Florida Police Chiefs Association.

In the community, Chief Sizemore serves as the Executive Director of the Cape Coral PAL, a liaison to NAMI Southwest Florida Board of Directors, and the Knights of Columbus.

His core strengths include strategic planning, organizational improvement, personnel development, crisis communication, and complex investigations. Through strong community partnerships, he remains committed to keeping Cape Coral a safe and vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

Dana Coston

Deputy Chief of Police

Deputy Chief Dana Coston commands the Administration Division, which includes Professional Standards, Communications & Logistics, and Community Services Bureaus. He’s been with the Cape Coral Police Department since 2000.

He has served in many different roles, including a detective liaison on the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, the Lieutenant that created the department’s Public Affairs Office, and the Captain of the Professional Standards Bureau. Deputy Chief Coston has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and in History from Emory University. Before coming to the Cape Coral Police Department, he was an officer with the Fulton County Police Department from 1997-2000. 

Matthew Campion

Deputy Chief of Police

Deputy Chief Matthew Campion commands the Operations Division and day-to-day operations of the Patrol, Investigative Services, and Special Operations Bureaus. He has been with the Cape Coral Police Department since 2006.

He has served as a Field Training Officer on Patrol, a Street Crimes Officer, and worked as a Background Detective in the Professional Standards Bureau. He has also held supervisory and leadership positions such as Patrol Sergeant, Administrative Patrol Sergeant, Intel Sergeant, Watch Commander, Administrative Patrol Lieutenant, Community Services Bureau Lieutenant, and Community Services Bureau Captain. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Management from Union University.

Brand Chenault

Captain, Special Operations Bureau

Captain Brand Chenault currently commands the Special Operations Bureau for the Cape Coral Police Department. He began his law enforcement career with the department in 1994 and has held various leadership positions, including Patrol Sergeant, Property Crimes Sergeant, Daytime Traffic Sergeant, and Patrol Watch Commander (Lieutenant).

Throughout his career, Captain Chenault has also served as a Patrol Officer, Motor Officer, and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer, dedicating many years to advancing traffic safety and enforcement throughout the city.

Before joining the department, Captain Chenault served honorably in the United States Marine Corps for eight years and is a proud Gulf War Veteran. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Safety Administration and remains committed to serving the Cape Coral community with professionalism, integrity, and dedication.

Jennifer Matlock

Captain, Community Services Bureau

Captain Jennifer Matlock commands the Community Services Bureau. She began her career with the Cape Coral Police Department in 1997.

She has worked in multiple bureaus, rising through the ranks, including the Professional Standards Bureau, and the Patrol Bureau, and Community Services Bureau. Captain Matlock has also served as Captain of the Special Operations Bureau. She received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science Degree in Abnormal Psychology from International College in Fort Myers, Florida. 

William Rosario

Captain, Investigative Services Bureau

Captain William Rosario commands the Investigative Services Bureau. He began his career at the Cape Coral Police Department in 2007.

He started in patrol and was a Field Training Officer. He later became involved in the Street Crimes Unit, then became a Property Crimes Detective. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2018. He served as a Patrol Sergeant before becoming a sergeant within the Property Crimes Unit. He has served as Lieutenant in both the Investigative Services Bureau and Professional Standards Bureau. He has an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Edison Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California Coast University. 

Julie Green

Captain, Professional Standards Bureau

Captain Julie Green is the Captain of the Professional Standards Bureau. She has been with the Cape Coral Police Department since 2001.

She has served as a Field Training Officer on Patrol, a Professional Standards Detective, an Economic Crimes Detective, and a Vice, Investigation, and Narcotics Detective. She was promoted to Sergeant in 2014, and supervised in the Patrol Bureau, Community Services Bureau, and Public Affairs Office. She was promoted to Lieutenant in 2023 and served as a Watch Commander. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Gulf Coast University.

Brian Kearney

Captain, Patrol Bureau

Captain Brian Kearney commands our largest bureau, the Patrol Bureau. He began his career with the Cape Coral Police Department in 2002.

He served as a Field Training Officer and was assigned to the Street Crimes Unit. He also spent 13 years as a member of the SWAT team, including serving as Team Leader for the elite Sniper Team. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2013 and has held supervisory roles in Patrol, the Training Unit, and the Community Services Bureau. In 2023, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and served as a Watch Commander. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Administration from Union Institute and University.

Marquilla James

Commander, Communications & Logistical Support Bureau

Commander Marquilla James commands the Communications and Logistics Bureau. She began her career with the Cape Coral Police Department in 2003 and has promoted through the ranks to command the bureau. She has her Florida State DOH Certificate and has been the FCIC Agency Coordinator for FCIC/NCIC and Point of Contact for the DAVID system. She also has APCO Police & Fire Communications Supervisor, and CTO certifications. Commander James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Administration from Florida Southwestern Sate College in Fort Myers, Florida.
