(July 23, 2025) – On July 22, 2025, a Cape Coral Police Department Detective on the FBI Safe Streets Task Force arrested a Cape Coral resident in connection with violent threats posted online.
On July 19, 2025, at 1:16 PM, the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center (NTOC) received a tip from Sniffies.com concerning a user who posted messages indicating plans for a mass shooting at Yellow Fever Creek Park in Cape Coral, referencing the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando.
CCPD’s FBI Safe Streets Task Force Officer tracked the user’s IP address to a residence in Cape Coral. It should be noted that the Task Force Officer recognized the name of Robert David Chisholm II (DOB: 1/8/87) from a prior investigation back in 2023. During that investigation, the same Task Force Officer received a tip from Sniffies.com that someone had posted online threats to conduct a mass bombing. The investigation again led to Robert Chisholm II, via IP address, and Chisholm II admitted to posting the online threats then and was arrested accordingly. Chisholm II is currently on state probation until 2033, with conditions that prohibit him from accessing Sniffies.com.
On the morning of July 22, 2025, the Task Force Officer contacted Robert Chisholm II at his residence. Chisholm II cooperated with the investigation and consented to a search of his home, and no firearms were found. Chisholm II acknowledged he was aware that posting on Sniffies.com violated the terms of his probation.
Chisholm II was placed under arrest and taken to the Lee County Jail on the following charge:
–1 count in violation of Florida Statute 836.10(2)(b), Written or Electronic Threats to Conduct a Mass Shooting
The Cape Coral Police Department reminds all residents that threats of violence against our community are taken seriously and will be investigated thoroughly in coordination with local, state, and federal partners. Anyone with information about suspicious or criminal activity is encouraged to contact the Cape Coral Police Department at (239) 574-3223 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
