(February 18, 2025) — On February 15, 2025, Adam Marchi (DOB 8/23/1990) was arrested and charged with burglary of a structure and criminal mischief after a thorough investigation into a break-in at 4820 Leonard Street, Cape Coral.
On February 5, 2025, Cape Coral Police responded to a burglary report at the property, where signs of forced entry and evidence of unauthorized occupation were found. A search of the building revealed significant damage, including broken doors, a mess of clothing, and a strong odor of feces and urine. Officers also discovered items belonging to Marchi, including an axe, clothing, and paperwork. Surveillance footage showed a male resembling Marchi entering the building on multiple occasions.
The investigation revealed that Marchi entered the property. He caused damages to include soiling carpets, clogging toilets, and breaking a door. Marchi also admitted to lowering the building’s thermostat and using a camping tent for shelter inside one of the offices.
The total estimated damage to the property exceeds $2,000.
Marchi was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail with the following charges:
–1 count in violation of FSS 810.02 (2c2), Burglary of a structure causing damages over $1,000
–1 count in violation of FSS 806.13 (1b3), Criminal Mischief greater than $1,000
