Results of April 20-21 Impaired Driving Operation

(April 22, 2024) – The Cape Coral Police Department conducted impaired driving enforcement (Operation Drive High, Get a DUI) on April 20-21, 2024, targeting impaired driving. This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in thirty-one citations.

Traffic Stop for erratic driving and an equipment violation led to the discovery that Cutshall was impaired. Breath refused.

Traffic Stop for a speed violation led to the discovery that Hoppe was knowingly driving with a suspended driver’s license. UTCR issued.

Traffic Stop for erratic driving and driving the wrong way led to the discovery that Hayes was impaired. BAC 0.195.

****The operation was paid for with FDOT sub-grant funding.  Cape Coral currently ranks 7th out of 38 agencies in Impaired Driving for traffic fatalities and serious injuries on the Highway Safety Matrix – Ranking of Florida. To improve traffic safety in the City, the Department has partnered with FDOT’s Traffic Safety Office to bring additional enforcement and education through the implementation of saturation patrols.
