(December 10, 2024) — On Monday, December 9, 2024, at approximately 7:58 PM, Cape Coral Police responded to a traffic crash near the 1900 block of Beach Parkway. The crash involved a red Ford Escape, driven by Robin Marie Nicholson (DOB 04/19/1968). Nicholson veered to the right, striking a pedestrian as he was walking in the bike lane along the roadway.
Witnesses identified Nicholson as the driver and confirmed her involvement in the crash. Officers arrived at the scene and observed signs of impairment in Nicholson. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted, and based on her performance and other indicators of impairment, Nicholson was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
Nicholson was transported to the hospital. Breath test results revealed blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.118%, well above the legal limit of 0.08%.
Nicholson was taken to the Lee County Jail and charged with the following:
–1 count in violation of F.S.S. 316.193(3c2) DUI and Serious Bodily Injury to Another, Third Degree Felony
