(May 22, 2024) — On May 21, 2024, Detectives arrested a suspect, identified as Alejandro Mendoza Blanco (DOB 2/2/1992), for possession of child pornography. The details are as follows:
The Cape Coral Police Department received a tip by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a suspect was downloading and viewing child sexual abuse material. Detectives interviewed Mendoza Blanco and he initially denied all involvement. An investigation ensued, resulting in a search warrant at the suspect’s residence.
On May 21, 2024 at approximately 10:20 AM, Special Victims Unit Detectives executed the search warrant and located Alejandro Mendoza Blanco inside his home at 1616 SE 6th Avenue in Cape Coral. At the conclusion of the investigation, Mendoza Blanco was found in possession of child sexual abuse material and was charged accordingly.
Alejandro Mendoza Blanco was taken to the Lee County Jail and charged with the following:
–10 counts in violation of F.S.S. 827.071(5), Possession of Sexual Performance by a child
–2 counts in violation of F.S.S. 775.0847, Possession or promotion of certain images of child pornography
