Results of May 16th Impaired Driving Operation

(May 17, 2024) – The Cape Coral Police Department conducted impaired driving enforcement (Operation “Arrive Alive, Don’t Drink and Drive”) on May 16, 2024, targeting impaired driving. This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in sixty-nine total citations.

The detailed results are as follows:

Megan Louise Antle (W/F 04-22-1983)

DUI / 24-011196

Ofc J. Myers / 1400-blk Viscaya Pkwy

Antle’s vehicle was called in as a Reckless Driving complaint. Traffic Stop by Ofc C. Prieto Perez and Ofc J. Myers for failure to maintain lane and other driving pattern observations. Antle was quickly detained due to erratic behavior and signs of impairment were observed. Antle was transported by medics to CCER due to her claims of experiencing a medical episode. While at CCER a DUI investigation determined that Antle was impaired and she was arrested. Medical staff elected to admit Antle and a NTA was issued. Medical BAC 0.275.

 

Jose R. Nieves Perez (W/M 08-31-1979)

No DL, Unregistered MV / 24-011213

Ofc J. Carroll / 800-blk Cape Coral Pkwy W

Traffic Stop for an expired temp tag led to the discovery that Nieves Perez did not have a driver’s license and was operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Transported to LCJ.

Justo Daniel Ojeda-Miranda (W/M 11-07-1987)

No DL / 24-011216

Sgt S. Burkhart / 2700-blk SW Pine Island Rd

Traffic Stop for a speed violation (83/50) led to the discovery that Ojeda-Miranda did not have a driver’s license. Transported to LCJ.

****The operation was paid for with FDOT sub-grant funding.  Cape Coral currently ranks 7th out of 38 agencies in Impaired Driving for traffic fatalities and serious injuries on the Highway Safety Matrix – Ranking of Florida. To improve traffic safety in the city, the Department has partnered with FDOT’s Traffic Safety Office to bring additional enforcement and education through the implementation of saturation patrols.
