Cape Coral Police Arrest Teen Suspect in Multi-Incident Retail Theft Investigation

CAPE CORAL, FL – The Cape Coral Police Department has arrested 18-year-old Arabella Calisto in connection with a string of retail thefts at the Target located at 1890 NE Pine Island Road.

The investigation, led by the Property Crimes Bureau, identified a pattern of coordinated retail theft occurring over the past several weeks. Loss Prevention personnel reported incidents on July 24, 2026, and August 4, 2026, where a female suspect was seen concealing hundreds of dollars in children’s toys and merchandise.

On August 7, 2026, as the investigation was gaining momentum, proactive police work led to an immediate breakthrough. CCPD Property Crimes Sergeant was at the store conducting a follow-up investigation related to the suspect’s previous incidents when he was alerted that the female suspect had returned to the store and was actively concealing merchandise.

Officers intercepted Calisto at the point of sale. Loss Prevention Officers confirmed her identity as the suspect involved in the previous thefts. Following the investigation, Calisto was taken into custody by detectives. The total value of the merchandise stolen across the three incidents is $1,305.73.

Calisto was transported to Lee County Jail and charged with Grand Theft (F.S. 812.015(8)(a)), a third-degree felony, due to the coordinated nature of the retail thefts occurring within a 30-day period with a cumulative value exceeding $750.
