Teacher Arrested for Sex Offense Against Student

Cape Coral, Fla. — On February 2, 2026, the Cape Coral Police Department was notified of allegations of inappropriate conduct by a teacher toward a student at Ida S. Baker High School.

School Administration reported that a student disclosed that her former teacher, Casimiro Razo (DOB 12/27/1989) made comments about her appearance, passed her handwritten notes, obtained her phone number, and communicated with her outside of school. She said Razo would pass her multiple notes nearly every day. The student also reported that in October of 2025, Razo asked her to stay after class, led her into a storage room in the classroom, and kissed her on the lips.

Phone records corroborated the student’s report.

Based on the investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Razo. On May 7, 2026, just before 7 AM, he was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office on a Felony warrant.

Casimiro Razo (DOB 12/27/1989) was taken to the Lee County Jail on the following charge:

  • 1 count of Sex Offense Against Student by Authority Figure

The Lee County School District suspended the employee in February after learning of the allegations and prohibited his return to campus pending the investigation.
