
On April 15, 2026, at approximately 9:58 p.m., Cape Coral Police officers responded to a reported armed robbery in the 2700 block of NW 22nd Street.
The victim had arranged to sell a Cartier watch through Facebook Marketplace and met with an individual to complete the transaction. During the meeting, the suspect grabbed the watch and brandished a firearm, making a threatening statement before fleeing the scene. The victim was able to leave the area safely and contact law enforcement. No injuries were reported.
Officers conducted an initial search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Violent Crimes Unit Detectives continued the investigation and identified a possible suspect through investigative leads and witness statements.
Using investigative techniques, the suspect was positively identified as Jermaine Nembhard Jr. (DOB 12/29/2002).
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence located near where the crime occurred. During the execution of the warrant, evidence related to the robbery was located, to include the firearm that was used in the crime.
Based on the investigation, probable cause was established. Nembhard Jr. was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with a Firearm (F.S.S. 812.13(2)(a))
