
On Sunday, November 9, 2025, at approximately 3:19 a.m., Cape Coral Police Officers responded to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Skyline Boulevard and SW Pine Island Road. Officers learned from Lee County Emergency Medical Services (LCEMS) that a gray Ford Bronco had struck a “Do Not Enter” sign in the median after rolling forward through the intersection.
The driver, identified as Kevin Matthew Jones (DOB 10/25/1980), was observed by LCEMS behind the wheel of the vehicle at the time of the crash. Upon making contact with Jones, officers detected signs of impairment. Jones performed field sobriety exercises, during which he showed multiple indicators of impairment.
Jones was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence, with a breath sample of 0.164. He was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail on the following charges:
- One count in violation of F.S.S. 316.193(4), Driving Under the Influence, 0.15 or Higher
- One count in violation of F.S.S. 316.193(3c1), Driving Under the Influence with Property Damage
