(June 17, 2025) — On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, just after 6 AM, officers with the Cape Coral Police Department were called to a location Near Chiquita Blvd S & SW 50th S, Cape Coral, Florida regarding a motor vehicle theft. The caller said their vehicle was stolen overnight from their condo parking lot.
The caller said they left their 2015 silver Chevrolet Camaro parked near the building unlocked with the keys inside, and last saw the vehicle at around 9:30 PM the night before. They woke up at around 6 AM that next morning for work and noticed the car was gone. The caller said there was $50 cash, a Venmo credit card, and miscellaneous tools in the trunk of the vehicle.
Detectives within our Property Crimes Unit assumed the investigation. Their investigation led them to believe this vehicle theft may be related to others reported in the area.
On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, just before 8 PM, officers were dispatched to the intersection of SW 8th St & Skyline Blvd, Cape Coral, Florida in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was the silver Camaro reported stolen the day before.
On Thursday, May 29, 2025, detectives returned to the victim’s neighborhood to document damage to the stolen vehicle, which had since been returned to its owner. There was significant damage to the passenger side, and it appeared the suspect may have been involved in a hit and run at an unknown location.
On June 4, 2025, Property Crimes Unit Detectives notified the Lee County Sheriff’s Office about another vehicle theft that occurred overnight. This vehicle was a silver Chrysler 200.
On June 5, 2025, at approximately 1:50 AM, a deputy working for the Lee County Sheriff’s Office located the stolen Chrysler and attempted a traffic stop. The Chrysler fled from the stop and turned down a dead end street. The deputy followed the vehicle and witnessed a male and female flee on foot. The Deputy caught the male, identified as Justin Adamson (DOB 06/29/2009), after a short chase. He spontaneously uttered that he knew the Chrysler was stolen. The 14-year-old female was also located and detained.
Detectives with LCSO took fingerprints from the Chrysler and processed the scene. Adamson was arrested by LCSO for several charges, including Obstruction, Marijuana Possession, and Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Chrysler 200).
The investigation between both agencies revealed Adamson was also the suspect who stole the silver Camaro in Cape Coral. Adamson damaged the vehicle pulling it into the parking garage at Cape Harbour, causing extensive damage.
Our investigation also revealed Adamson burglarized a Ford F150 prior to stealing the silver Camaro. In another separate incident, he also stole money from a relative’s bank bag.
Based on the investigation, Justin Adamson was arrested on the following charges:
–1 count of Grand Theft Motor Vehicle under F.S.S. 812.014 (2)(c)(6), Third Degree Felony
–2 counts of Burglary Unoccupied Conveyance Unarmed under F.S.S. 810.02 (4)(b), Third Degree Felony
