The Community Services Bureau focuses on police and community relations and protecting our city’s schools. This Bureau includes School Resource Officers, Community Oriented Policing (COP) Officers, Community Outreach, and Police Explorers. The School Resource Unit has three Sergeants and at least one Officer in each school. One Sergeant and three COP Officers work to identify problems in neighborhoods and implement proactive solutions. The Community Outreach Coordinator manages programs like ‘Do the Right Thing,’ which recognizes students for positive actions.
Captain Jennifer Matlock
Captain Jennifer Matlock commands the Community Service Bureau. She began her career with the Cape Coral Police Department in 1997, and has worked in the Community Services Bureau, Professional Standards Bureau, and the Patrol Bureau. Captain Matlock received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Abnormal Psychology from International College in Fort Myers, Florida.
