
The Cape Coral Police Department has arrested Regina M. McBride (DOB 08/04/1985) in connection to a burglary of a residence that occurred on June 16, 2026.
At approximately 10:15 a.m., CCPD officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress. The suspect was seen on a nearby surveillance camera walking around the property with a bicycle and a backpack. Upon arrival, officers located a female suspect inside the screened patio area of the residence. She was observed near a rear sliding glass door that showed fresh pry marks. Nearby, officers observed tools consistent with forced entry.
CCPD’s Property Crimes Detectives responded and took over the investigation. Detectives recovered multiple items commonly used in burglaries, including pry tools, bolt cutters, gloves, and zip ties. Detectives also located numerous credit cards and identification documents belonging to other individuals, including property belonging to the homeowner.
McBride admitted to being at the residence and was found in possession of a backpack she knew contained burglary tools. McBride was was taken into custody without incident.
McBride was transported to the Lee County Jail and charged with the following:
- One count in violation of Burglary of an Unoccupied Dwelling – Unarmed, Florida Statute 810.02(3)(b)
- One count in violation of Possession of Burglary Tools, Florida Statute 810.06
- One count in violation of possession of Personal Identification Information of a Person Sixty Years of Age or Older Without Consent, Florida Statute 817.568(2)(a)
CCPD’s Economic Crimes Unit is continuing the investigation and additional charges are pending.
