On May 19, 2026, at approximately 8:13 p.m., officers with the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in Southwest Cape Coral. Dispatch advised that yelling could be heard in the background of the call, including statements indicating a potential threat of violence.
Upon arrival, the first responding officer made contact at the residence. The suspect, identified as Isaias Jamon Garcia (DOB 07/19/2003), partially opened the door and stated that the officer could leave and everything was okay. The officer saw a victim inside the residence signaling for help, prompting the officer’s immediate intervention. Garcia attempted to shut the door but was detained outside the residence without incident.
During the detention, officers were informed that Garcia was armed. A pat-down search resulted in the recovery of a 9mm handgun in his waistband.
The investigation revealed that Garcia had been involved in a domestic dispute inside the residence involving two occupants. According to statements obtained on scene, Garcia forced his way into the residence after being denied entry, causing the door to strike one of the victims. During the incident, Garcia reportedly threatened one victim and pointed a firearm at them multiple times.
When another victim attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation, Garcia allegedly shoved them victim away. Officers also learned that Garcia restricted one victim’s ability to leave the residence, causing the victim to feel unsafe and unable to exit.
Garcia was taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Jail and charged with the following:
- Armed Burglary (F.S.S. 810.02(2)(b)) – 1 count
- Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (F.S.S. 784.021(1)(a)) – 1 count
