Back-to-back Thefts Lead to Arrest on Drug and Warrant Charges

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Cape Coral Police Department arrested Jeno Nicholas Naples (DOB 04/29/1994) following multiple theft incidents and drug-related offenses occurring on May 12, 2026.

On May 12, 2026, at approximately 6:50 p.m., officers responded to a reported theft at a Target located at 1890 NE Pine Island Road. The investigation revealed Naples entered a fitting room with merchandise and exited wearing clothing and shoes that had not been purchased. He then proceeded through self-checkout without paying and left the store. The total value of the stolen merchandise was $128.99.

On May 13, 2026, at approximately 10:58 p.m., officers responded to a theft in progress at a RaceTrac located at 3010 NE Pine Island Road. Store personnel reported a suspect taking merchandise and leaving without payment. Upon arrival, officers located Naples on the property and detained him.

Surveillance video confirmed Naples took two phone chargers from the store and exited without attempting to pay. The total value of the stolen items was $35.12.

Officers recognized Naples as the suspect from the Target theft the previous day. At the time of his detention, he was wearing clothing stolen during that earlier incident.

During a search incident to arrest, officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on Naples.

Naples initially refused to provide his identity. He was later positively identified, and a records check revealed two active Lee County warrants for failure to appear and violation of pre-trial release conditions, both related to prior drug charges.

Naples was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Petit Theft, and the outstanding warrants. He was transported to the Lee County Jail.
