(December 31, 2025) — The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a special traffic operation on December 30, 2025. This high visibility enforcement operation specifically targeted speeding & aggressive driving. This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in 69 total citations.

Cape Coral currently ranks 9th out of 38 agencies in Speeding or Aggressive Driving for traffic fatalities and serious injuries on the Highway Safety Matrix – Ranking of Florida. To improve traffic safety in the City, the Department has partnered with FDOT’s Traffic Safety Office to bring additional enforcement and education through the implementation of saturation patrols.
