Burglary Suspect Charged After $40,000 Sneaker Theft from Storage Unit

CAPE CORAL, FL — On August 7, 2025, at around 6:00 p.m., Cape Coral Police officers responded to 1014 SE 9th Street in reference to a past-occurred burglary.

The victim reported he discovered the door hinge of his storage unit had been cut. Inside, numerous items were missing, including approximately 85–90 pairs of Nike Jordan sneakers valued at $40,000, two signed sports jerseys valued at $1,200, and a red Nike Jordan golf bag with TaylorMade clubs valued at $500.

Surveillance video from August 4, 2025, at around 12:44 a.m., showed a white sedan arrive at the facility. Three suspects entered through a rear door, and one used bolt cutters to force entry into the unit. The suspects made multiple trips removing shoes and other items before leaving at 12:59 a.m.

One suspect was identified as Toriano Angibeau (DOB 4/3/1992), who had previously been arrested at the facility. Another suspect was identified as a female who had been evicted from her storage unit the day before the burglary.

Detectives with the Property Crimes Unit assumed the investigation. Based on their findings, Angibeau was charged with:

  • Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure, Unarmed (F.S.S. 810.02(4)(a)), a third-degree felony
  • Grand Theft $20,000–$100,000 (F.S.S. 812.014(2)(b)(1)), a second-degree felony

Angibeau was already in custody at the Lee County Jail following an arrest on August 6, 2025. On that date, officers located him at the storage facility on a warrant for Felony Violation of Probation – Possession of a Controlled Substance after receiving a tip that he was at the storage facility. After briefly resisting, he was detained and transported to jail on the following charges:

  • Felony Violation of Probation – Possession of a Controlled Substance (F.S.S. 948.06)
  • Resisting Arrest Without Violence (F.S.S. 843.02)
