(June 10, 2025) — On June 9, 2025 at approximately 2:03 AM, officers working for the Cape Coral Police Department were dispatched to a residence on SW 44th Terrace in Cape Coral, Florida, in reference to a vehicle burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers reviewed home surveillance footage showing an unidentified individual unlawfully entering a vehicle parked in the driveway. The suspect was later identified as Billie Michael Dyson (DOB 10/11/2004).
Shortly after the initial call, patrol units observed a male matching the suspect’s description entering a white BMW near SW 46th Terrace and SW 18th Avenue and driving away in the car. Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and ultimately crashed into a concrete wall near the intersection of SW 47th Terrace and SW 20th Place. The suspect fled on foot and was tracked and apprehended shortly thereafter with the assistance of a K9 unit.
CCPD’s Property Crimes Detectives responded, and the investigation determined that Billie Dyson burglarized multiple vehicles in the neighborhood with the intent to steal items or the vehicles themselves. Dyson also stole the BMW from a nearby driveway, crashed it, and acknowledged that he was aware his driver’s license was suspended.
