(April 19, 2025) — On Friday, April 18, 2025, at approximately 10:45 PM, officers with the Cape Coral Police Department responded to the Marquee Cinemas at 2301 Del Prado Blvd S in Cape Coral for a report of male with a handgun.
When officers arrived, they met with eight juvenile victims in the parking lot. The juveniles said they were standing outside of the front doors of the theater when an unknown male suspect, 17-20 years of age, got into an argument with the group after a comment was made about his girlfriend.
The suspect then walked to the parking lot and returned, pulling up the front of his shirt and brandishing a dark colored semi-automatic handgun from his waistband and said “I’ll show you all what’s crackin.” The group then dispersed, and the suspect re-entered the theater, then left. This information was reported to the manager of the theater, who called 9-1-1.
Our Violent Crimes Unit was notified and responded. A suspect was developed as Xavier Charles Derisma (DOB 12/03/2007), a 17-year-old black male. Several victims positively identified Derisma as the male who had the handgun. Based on the aforementioned investigation, a search warrant was granted for Derisma’s residence.
