Man arrested after parking dispute with BB gun

(March 18, 2025) — On March 17th, 2025, just before 11 PM, officers responded to a disturbance between a male and female involving a weapon at 315 SW Pine Island Rd, Cape Coral, Florida.

Officers met with the reporting party, who said she parked her vehicle next to another car, and as soon as she opened the door, an unknown male started yelling obscenities and cursing at her from a third-floor balcony. She said the male said, “I’ll pop your jaw. Don’t make me come down there. I don’t care if you’re a girl. I will send my daughter.”

The reporting party said the male, later identified as Louis Joseph Mazzaro (DOB 11/27/1982), left the balcony and came back a few seconds later with what appeared to be a long-barrel gun and demanded she move her vehicle. She told officers the man said, “I’ll pop you right now {expletive}. Move your car.” When she asked him if it was a gun, he said it was a BB and said, “This is not a threat. It’s a promise.” In fear for her life and safety, she moved her vehicle to the other side of the apartment, went into her home, and called 911. She was able to describe the male, saying he was wearing some type of jacket and what seemed to be sweatpants, and said she wanted to press charges.

The investigation revealed that the altercation was centered around Mazzaro feeling the reporting party parked too close to his car. He grabbed the BB gun and started pretending to load it. Mazzaro led officers to a long-barrel rifle in one of the rooms of the home. The reporting party identified Mazzaro as the offender in a show-up. There were children present in the home at the time of the altercation.

Based on the investigation, Louis Joseph Mazzaro (DOB 11/27/1982) was taken to the Lee County Jail on the following charges:

–1 count in violation of F.S.S. 784.021 (1)(a), Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Without Intent to Kill

Arrested: Louis Joseph Mazzaro (DOB 11/27/1982)
