Arrest Made in Case for Possession of Child Pornography

(March 6, 2025) — On March 5, 2025, Special Victims Unit Detectives made an arrest for possession of child pornography.

On July 13, 2024, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted the Cape Coral Police Department to report allegations of child sexual abuse material.

The Special Victims Unit began investigating the case that connected Michael Ronald Osborne (DOB 01/28/1985) to a social media account that flagged multiple files that were uploaded, suspected of containing child sexual abuse material.

During the investigation, it was learned that Osborne had possessed graphic videos that were confirmed to depict child pornography. Osborne was also active in chat groups that expressed an interest in young girls.

Detectives executed search warrants, which revealed that Osborne was in possession of child pornography.

On March 5, 2025, Michael Osborne was arrested and charged with the following:

–10 counts in violation of F.S.S. 827.071, Possession of Sexual Performance by a Child

Osborne received an enhancement to the Florida State Statute for meeting additional criteria.
