Suspect Arrested in Vehicle Burglary Incident

(December 26, 2024) — On December 24, 2024, at approximately 5:13 AM, officers working for the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a reported burglary in progress near SE 46th Street in Cape Coral.

According to the reporting party, they left for work and saw a silhouette inside their vehicle with the driver’s side door open. When the reporting party closed the front door of their residence, the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The police were immediately called, and the reporting party gave a detailed description of what the suspect was wearing.

Officers located a suspect matching this description at the intersection of SE 45th Street and SE 14th Avenue. The individual, later identified as Jaden Donovan (DOB 11/22/2005), was immediately detained. Video footage from a neighbor captured the incident.

Mr. Donovan was arrested and charged with the following:

–1 count in violation of Florida State Statute 810.02(4b), Burglary of an Unoccupied Conveyance, Third-degree felony.

–1 count in violation of Florida State Statute 856.021, Loitering and Prowling, First-degree misdemeanor.
