Man Arrested for Burglary and Petit Theft Involving Turtle

(August 2, 2024) — On Friday, August 2, 2024, at approximately 1:40 AM, officers working for the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a home in Southwest Cape Coral for the reports of a suspicious person on the reporting party’s property.

The reporting party/homeowner called and advised that a white male with a beard, tattoos, and shorts was walking around inside the enclosed pool cage.

Officers arrived on scene and saw the homeowner pointing to the backyard, where the suspect was still known to be. An officer found the male hiding in the homeowner’s bushes. The officer announced himself and gave commands to the suspect, later identified as Cade Alexander Logan (DOB 11/25/1994), who complied with the officer’s commands.

After detaining Mr. Logan, officers spoke with the homeowner, who said they were sleeping and had heard weird noises on their lanai. After checking their security cameras, they saw Mr. Logan illegally enter their lanai and steal a decorative turtle. The turtle was recovered and given back to the homeowner.

The investigation revealed that Mr. Logan illegally entered the homeowner’s lanai. He did not know the homeowner and was not invited. Mr. Logan stole the decorative turtle and left the screened-in lanai.

Cade Logan was taken to the Lee County Jail and charged with the following:

–1 count in violation of F.S.S. 810.02(3)(a), Burglary of an occupied dwelling (unarmed)

–1 count in violation of F.S.S. 812.04(3)(a), Petit theft

Arrested: Cade Alexander Logan (DOB 11/25/1994, 4035 W Sunflower Circle, Labelle, Florida)
