Results of June 28 Impaired Driving Operation

The Cape Coral Police Department conducted impaired driving enforcement (Operation “You Booze & Cruise, You Lose”) on June 28th-29th, 2024 targeting impaired driving. This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in fifty total citations.

Traffic Stop resulting from a Reckless Driving call for service. Observations of impairment led to a DUI investigation. Arroyo was arrested and transported to LCJ. Breath refused.

Traffic Stop for a speed violation (74/40). Observations of impairment led to a DUI investigation. Breath refused.

Traffic Stop for a speed violation (55/35). Oliver produced a Pennsylvania ID card that stated that his driver\’s license was suspended, which was subsequently confirmed in NCIC/FCIC. UTCR issued.

****The operation was paid for with FDOT sub-grant funding.  Cape Coral currently ranks 7th out of 37 agencies in Impaired Driving for traffic fatalities and serious injuries on the Highway Safety Matrix – Ranking of Florida. To improve traffic safety in the City, the Department has partnered with FDOT’s Traffic Safety Office to bring additional enforcement and education through the implementation of saturation patrols.
