Man Wields Knife in Gas Station Snack Robbery

(May 7, 2024) — On May 7, 2024, at 2:03 AM, Officers working for the Cape Coral Police Department were dispatched to a robbery at 7-Eleven, 2604 Skyline Blvd, Cape Coral, Florida.

Officers spoke with a 7-Eleven employee who stated that a male, later identified as Blake Carson Montroy (DOB 03/02/2006), was carrying baskets from the store, and walked out the front entrance. Two employees walked after Montroy to get a better view. Montroy dropped the stolen items and pulled out a knife threatening to stab both employees.

When asked what happened, Montroy stated that he was at home and really wanted some snacks and alcohol. He used two baskets from 7-Eleven and ran out of the store. He stated that two employees were running after him, and he dropped the baskets and ran. Upon search, Montroy had the knife as described and was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Montroy stole $131.89 in alcohol and snacks from the 7-Eleven.

 

Montroy was arrested, taken to the Lee County Jail, and charged with the following:

–2 counts in violation of F.S.S. 784.021 (1a), Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill

–1 count in violation of F.S.S. 812.014 (2e), Petit theft from merchant, farm or transit for $100 to $750

–1 count in violation of F.S.S. 983.13 (6a), Possession of Controlled Substance without a Prescription
