Man arrested for Armed Robbery, Providing False Name to Law Enforcement

(May 2, 2024) — On April 30th, 2024, Michael Anthony Brown Jr. (DOB 04/13/2004) was arrested for Robbery with a Firearm, Providing a False Name to Law Enforcement, and Probation Violation.

On April 16th, 2024, at 12:04 PM the Cape Coral Police Department received a 911 call regarding a robbery that occurred near 1300 NE Pine Island Road, Cape Coral, Florida.

According to the 21-year-old victim, at about 11:50 AM, he was traveling northbound on Chiquita Boulevard when he believed he was being followed by a black Kia. The Kia continued to follow him through multiple streets and the victim finally stopped his vehicle because he believed he could not get away from the Kia. The suspect approached the passenger side of V1’s vehicle with a handgun and fled after taking the victim’s property.

The Violent Crimes Unit was notified and assumed the investigation. During the course of the investigation, the suspect was identified as Michael Anthony Brown Jr.

On April 30th, 2024, Michael Anthony Brown Jr. was located at a home in NW Cape Coral and provided a false name to law enforcement, knowing that he had a warrant for his arrest unrelated to the robbery. Officers were able to obtain his true information identifying him as Michael Anthony Brown Jr. (DOB 04/13/2004).

Brown was taken to the Lee County Jail on the following charges.

–1 count in violation of F.S.S. 948.06, Probation Violation

–1 count in violation of F.S.S 901.36(1), Providing a False Name to Law Enforcement

–1 count in violation of F.S.S. 812.13(2)(a), Robbery with a Firearm
