Results of April 15th Speed and Aggressive Driving Operation

(April 15, 2024)- The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a traffic saturation (‘Operation Be Alert, Crashes Hurt’) on April 15, 2024 specifically targeting speed and aggressive driving. This operation was conducted citywide and resulted in eighty-three citations.

A traffic stop was conducted for a speed violation. Contact was made with the driver who provided a Dominican Republic Passport only. An FCIC/NCIC check confirmed the driver was never issued a driver’s license in the United States.

*******The operation was paid for with FDOT sub-grant funding. Cape Coral currently ranks 12th out of 38 agencies in Speeding or Aggressive Driving for traffic fatalities and serious injuries on the Highway Safety Matrix – Ranking of Florida. To improve traffic safety in the City, the Department has partnered with FDOT’s Traffic Safety Office to bring additional enforcement and education through the implementation of saturation patrols.
