The Public Affairs Office oversees the dissemination of public information from the Cape Coral Police Department. Our Public Affairs Office is responsible for monitoring and posting on the Department’s social media platforms and website. Our team engages with the media and uses social media to communicate timely and accurate information to the community. 

The Public Affairs Office is the primary point of contact for news media, organizations, and the general public seeking information about the Cape Coral Police Department.

Public Affairs Officer Mercedes Phillips

Officer Mercedes Phillips is the Public Affairs Officer for the department and is assigned to the Office of the Chief of Police. Officer Phillips started with the Cape Coral Police Department as a patrol officer in July of 2022. Prior to that, she was a police officer for the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland for 3 years. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Southeastern University in Florida and a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology with a specialization in Police Psychology from Walden University. 

Public Affairs Officer Lisa Greenberg

Lisa Greenberg was hired on as the Cape Coral Police Department’s Public Information Specialist in December of 2023. She is assigned to the Office of the Chief of Police and supports all Public Affairs activity, including working with the media and creating content for the Department’s social media. She also handles other forms of external communication, as well as internal communications. She was a Journalist and Anchor at Fox 4 for 9 years before coming to the Department. She has a Bachelor of Science in Communications from The University of Florida.
